10 Months

10 months...getting to be so big!

At 10 months Sadie started to stand on her own for long periods of time and also take a few steps on her own. Some were pretty wobbly steps but she was definitely walking on her own. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that she started walking early, she is always trying to keep up with Rylee and follow her around. She loves her big sister!

She also got 2 more teeth this month. So now she has 4 on top and 2 on the bottom. She really doesn't like her baby food anymore so she is now on mostly all table foods. And believe it or not she loves her veggies (beans and peas) but doesn't really like fruit. She spits peaches, watermelon, pears, etc. out. I think its still a texture thing. So we still do give her some fruit from the baby containers.

Sadie also LOVES to be outside! She will go to one of our doors and start banging on it cause she wants to go out. Once she is outside, she loves to explore. Her favorite thing is to grab your finger and take you for a walk wherever she wants to go. She is a busy, busy girl!

I probably shouldn't put this picture up of their bare bums but I thought the picture (and the moment) was so cute. There was a big rainbow outside and we pulled up the blinds so the girls could check it out. Rylee's showing Sadie the rainbow and explaining what it is ("all the colors in the sky" she explained to Sadie). Sadie actually seemed pretty interested in what Rylee had to say.

*On a side note, I know I am SO far behind but I did not give up on my blog. I actually wanted to post this one for awhile but I wanted to include some video's of her walking and from the bathtub but I can't get it to work. So hopefully I'll figure it out and post some video of her soon. I've got a lot more posts to catch up on too! Aghh, if only there was more time in a day :)

Our Little Gymnast

This winter we signed Rylee up for Gymnastic classes or "Nastics" as she calls them. Her first session she took was a Mommy and Me class and we went together on Saturday mornings. She quickly fell in love with going to nastics and its definitely something she looks forward to doing. She did the Mommy and Me class for 10 weeks this winter and now she is in a 2.5-3 year old class all by herself. I was a little worried about the transition to going into class by herself but she proved me wrong and did great. I stand outside of the room and watch and every once in a while she'll look over and make sure I am watching (which I think is cute) but she always goes right on in by herself. She is a very shy girl so this surprised me. I am so happy that she enjoys it so much. A while ago, Brad came with to one of the classes and took tons of pictures of our little gymnast. I couldn't decide which ones to put up so I just decided to put up a lot!

9 Months

Over a month ago, I took Sadie to JCPenny's to get her 9 month pictures taken. They were so far behind and pictures took about 10 minutes but yet we were there for almost 2 hours. I wasn't very happy about the long wait. Sadie wasn't exactly happy either. We did still manage to get a few good pictures even though Sadie was getting impatient.

Sadie was a very busy 9 month old. She crawls around and tries to get into everything. She figured out she loves to climb up the stairs. She can cruise up them pretty darn good now. She also for some reason loves to go into the bathroom. She'll follow anyone in there, especially Rylee. We have learned to always keep the bathroom doors closed now but if she sees it open, she will dart for it. She continues to walk along furniture and every once in awhile she'll stand on her own for a few seconds. Once she realizes it though, she'll grab for the furniture.

She loves table food and definitely prefers that over baby food. Her top 2 teeth came in this month too (Feb. 24th and 27th). On Feb. 25th, Sadie had tubes put in. She had 4 ear infections and a few of them took a few rounds of antiobiotics to get rid of them. Rylee had her tube surgery at 9 months and we knew how much it helped her so it was a little bit easier decision this time around. So she had a few rough days with her top teeth coming in and her surgery but after that she was as good as new. After her surgery she had a long nap and then woke up happy as can be. I was very relieved.

Her new trick for the month was she learned how to clap. Her little wave just cracks me up. She used to just kind of flap her hand for "bye, bye". But then she changed it and actually started waving but she turns her hand around and waves to herself. Very cute.

Here's her 9 months stats from her wellness visit. She continues to be tall and skinny. I looked at Rylee's 9 month stats and I was surprised but they were actually very similar.

Weight: 17 lbs 15 ozs (35th%) Rylee (17 lbs, 9 ozs)

Height: 28.75 inches (90th%) Rylee (28.5 in)

Head: 44.5 cm (70th%) Rylee (45 cm)

Key Lime Cove

A few weeks ago we headed up north of Chicago to meet the whole family for the weekend. We stayed at a hotel called Key Lime Cove Resort and it had a huge water park in it. I was so excited to see everyone and of course it was a great time had by all.

Bailey thought it looked so fun that she didn't even stick around for a family picture. She was on that thing as soon as we got there. But the rest of us managed to sneak in a family picture before everyone went on all the slides.

Rylee really loved the water slides! She was a little timid at first but then she was going down all by herself and saying "again, again" and smiling.

...and with Quincy! I love how they both have their arms out and have that same terrified look on their faces. But they were both nothing but smiles when they got to the bottom and went right back up to do it again.

We stayed at the pool pretty late Friday night, past Sadie's bedtime. She was really good but content cuddling with Gramma. Saturday she splashed and played in the kiddy pools but we didn't bring our camera's with us in there Saturday. Its too hard to have a camera and play at a place like this. Thanks to Vanessa for taking all of these pictures.

We'll definitely go back to this hotel! It was a perfect get away in the middle of the winter (and a nice meeting place for all). It had big slides for the adults, big kids stuff, and a lot for the toddler's and babies as well. We all loved the Lazy River too. We went around on that a lot. It was the one "ride" that all 12 of us could do together.

I had to include this picture too. It's just so cute. We stayed by Gurnee Mills, which is a huge mall, so of course we found some time to go there too. Rylee and Quincy were so cute holding hands with each other and Gramma.

It was a great weekend and we look forward to doing it again!

8 Months

8 Months!

As of yesterday, Sadie is 9 months old now. But, I still have to post her 8 months pictures. I need to keep up so I have it documented for the future. I'm even farther behind in the girls scrapbooks so I depend on my blog to go back and look at so I know what to write about.

By 8 months Sadie had mastered both her crawling and walking along furniture. At 7 months she was crawling but now she is just super fast at it and can take off in an instant. She also got a lot better with control when walking along furniture. She learned how to squat to get down to the ground when standing rather than just tumble down.

She does circles around our ottoman and loves it. Its nice and padded so we don't mind either.

Her eating improved this month too. She still can be fussy at times but for the most part she does a good job eating whatever we give her. We started puffs with her this month. The first few times she would gag on them and spit them out. But she eventually got over the whole texture thing and she now loves puffs. Its nice when they start eating finger foods because it makes things a little easier. She also learned how to wave "bye, bye" and clap this month.

I love her smiles but I have to admit that her serious looks are my favorite! She looks at me with those big eyes and it just gets me everytime.
