Random Summer Pics

These pictures are pretty old but I was going through pictures on my computer and I found a bunch of random ones from the summer that I thought I'd put up here.

At the beginning of the summer, Rylee learned how to ride her bike. She got a princess bike and a princess helmet and loves them! She seemed like such a big girl to me on her bike.

We have a big pool in our neighborhood but sometimes it was easier just to get out our little pool for our yard. The girls had lots of fun in the little pool and especially loved the slide!

In May Brad finished a HUGE project in our yard and we are so happy with it! He leveled off our side yard by building a big brick wall. He fenced it in and then built a swingset for the girls. Before he did all this we never used this part of our yard. After he was done we pretty much spent the whole summer playing back there. The girls love their swing set! And a huge thank you to Brad for working so hard on this for them!

One of the girls favorite things to do this summer was draw with sidewalk chalk. For some reason I didn't take any picture of this even though they were constantly doing it. Our driveway was always the most colorful on the street :) These 2 pictures are of them sitting on their princess chairs in our driveway. You can see hopscotch under their chairs and a few other chalk markings on our driveway.

Princess Dress Up

For the past year, Rylee has been into princesses and "dress up". Now that Sadie is old enough she also likes to join in on "dress up" with her sister. It is so cute to watch those two play and giggle together. These pictures were just from a random night that they decided to dress up (over their jammies).

When Rylee dresses up she likes to put on all the accessories (shoes, necklaces, bracelets, crown, sunglasses, and her princess CD player that plays "princess" music)...she goes all out!

Fort Ben Field Trip

At the end of August, Kids Korner (the girls daycare) took a field trip to Fort Benjamin Harris. I went along as a chaperon. They played on the playground, had a picnic and they got to go on pony rides! It was Sadie's first pony ride and Rylee's second time (but my first time there with her). I was impressed that all the kids went on the ponies. It took a lot of convincing for some but everyone enjoyed it once they were riding.

Then it was Sadie's turn to ride Lucy. She wasn't too sure when I first put her on the pony but then she was fine once the pony started going. She held on and looked like such a big girl to me!

I had a great time with the kids and I'm glad I was able to take a few hours off of work to go with them!

At the end of August we went to Michigan for the weekend at the Kreider's. They bought a boat this year and took us out on the lake with them.

This was Rylee's first time tubing. I was actually pretty shocked that she wanted to go. She did a great job! She didn't cry or anything, I was so proud of her. I think she was trying to be a big girl like Maddy...she really looks up to Maddy. After they went together than I took my turn and went with Maddy and then I went with Rylee. It was fun with the girls!

We had a great weekend with the Kreider's! Boating with them was a blast! Of course after spending the day on the lake we topped it off with a stop at Dairy Queen on the way back to the Kreider's. Good times!

Rylee's 3rd Birthday - Tinkerbell Party!

Rylee loves Tinkerbell so that's what we went with as the theme for her 3rd birthday party! We decided to have the party at home but rent a bounce house for the kids. Rylee was so excited, she absolutely loved it! Her expression on her face when she walked outside and saw it the first time was priceless!

Rylee had such a great time at her party. She talked about her party forever after that and will still bring it up even now (2 months later). I'd say it was a success! Happy Birthday Babe!

Catching up

I'm trying to catch up finally. I know I will never stay totally caught up but I would like to be with in a month rather than 3 or 4 months behind. Its just so nice to have a "journal" to look back on so I defintely want to keep it going. It helps me for my scrapbooking too (if I ever find time for those). I just posted 3 new posts. I had started them back in August with loading all the pictures but I just never went back and wrote about them until now. Aggh, what can I say...life is busy...but we sure do enjoy it!
