Week In Marquette

Monday morning we left Wausau and headed up to Marquette for the week. I was so excited to go home and see everyone, I especially couldn't wait to see our nephew Quincy again. Monday was Vanessa's birthday and mine was Tuesday so my mom had a big birthday party for the two of us. We had some aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandma's, plus our whole family there. It was great to be there with my sister and celebrate our birthdays together. We also went and had pedicures together for our birthday treat. The rest of the week before the 4th was spent visiting family and friends, going to the beach, going to the park, fishing (Brad and my dad got tons of fishing in which Brad loved), and just enjoying being home. The week flew by and before we knew it the 4th was here and the holiday celebrations began.

I loved this one because he looks like he is smiling at me

Rylee loves to swing!

The Kreider's came up from Florence to visit us for a day. It was so nice to get to see them too. We had lunch (pasties), took the girls down to the park, drove around Presque Isle, and of course introduced them to Quincy.

Rylee prefers the swing over the slide but we put her on there anyways. I thought this picture was cute even though her hand is flapping away.

Rylee on Grampa's Harley

My dad gave Brad and I each a ride on his Harley with him. Rylee didn't get to ride, but she did like sitting on there with him. I loved it. Brad thought the back seat was a little too small for him so he wasn't to sure about it. My mom and I sure did get a kick out of seeing the two of them on there together though, wish I would've got a picture of that.

Gramma spoiled Rylee once again. We got to her house and she had bought a bunch of new toys and a pool for her to keep at Gramma's house. She was in her glory!

Weekend In Wausau

The Friday before the 4th we headed up to Wausau to visit Brad's parents. It was a long drive but since we didn't leave til the evening Rylee ended up sleeping the majority of the way, which worked out great! We were planning on going camping but the weather didn't cooperate so we didn't end up going, maybe next year. We still had a good time visiting with them and we ended up getting a lot of shopping in instead of camping, which of course was okay by me.

Doesn't she just look so innocent here?

She loved playing with the magnets on the fridge. We have a stainless steel fridge which can't have magnets so she thought this fridge was a lot more fun than ours.

10 Months!

I know this post is really late but I still wanted to get it up (more for my own records than anything). Month 9 to 10 was another busy month! Rylee is so much fun and is such a busy body! She is really a fast crawler. If you take your eye off of her for a second she'll take off. We had to baby proof the house, especially the stairs. We put the gate up and now she stays away but before she loved the stairs. She also loves to walk along furniture and walk behind her little grocery cart walker. We have seen her stand a few times on her own but only for a second or two and then once she realizes she's on her own she sits down right away.

Rylee is finally over her fear of grass. The 2 pics of her on the towel are from when she didn't like grass. It was nice to be able to put her down and not have to worry about her crawling away. The picture of her in the grass is her first time we put her in the grass without her crying. You can tell she still wasn't sure about it here. Now she crawls all over in it and doesn't mind it at all.

Rylee's 2 favorite things to do right now are playing with all of her toy balls and playing under the kitchen table and chairs. She has a lot of little balls that came with her toys. She's not really into the toys, just the balls. She throws a ball (usually left handed), crawls after it, and then picks it up and throws it again. It sure does keep her entertained. She also likes to take the balls under the table with her. I am not really sure why she likes to crawl under the chairs and play under the table but she is constantly going under there or standing by the chairs. Maybe it's her little fort.

On June 5th Rylee had her surgery to get her tubes put in. It went really well. Brad and I were nervous about the whole thing but now we are really glad that we did it. She was only away from us for about 15 minutes. She wasn't the happiest (and kind of out of it) when she came back, but we left right away and she fell asleep in the car on the way home. She slept for almost 2 hours and when she woke up she acted like she never had anything done. I stayed home from work that day with her and she was her normal smiley self. We were very relieved. The day before she got her tubes in her top right tooth broke through and the day after the other top tooth poked through. They are pretty big teeth and have been taking awhile to come in. Her nose has been running a lot and before if her nose ran like that, it would turn into an ear infection. But so far so good, so hopefully those tubes are doing their job.

She's a big fan of this teething ring. We put it in the fridge and she loves to chew on it. She's also really enjoying table food. Anything we give her she shoves in her mouth. Our baby is growing up so fast! I can't believe that her 1st birthday is right around the corner. This summer is going by way to quickly.

Splish Splash!

Rylee still loves her bath time! She loves to splash and make waves. Unfortunately, she is getting really brave and crawls and tries to stand in the bath tub now. It just makes it a little harder for mom and dad. I feel bad that we constantly have to tell her no when she stands up but we just don't want her to slip. She sure does have fun in the water!

Quincy Alexander

Quincy Alexander Grignon
June 19, 2008
8 lbs. 2 ozs
19 3/4 in.

Baby cuz is finally here! Quincy Alexander was born early Thursday morning and he is a healthy, beautiful baby boy. I couldn't wait to meet him and see Ness, so Rylee and I flew home first thing Friday morning. I am so happy that we went! He is such a cutie and I loved cuddling with him. He is so tiny and he made Rylee seem so big. It's amazing how fast they grow up! Someday 10 months won't seem like such a big difference but it sure makes a huge difference right now. It was hard to leave on Sunday but Brad, Rylee and I are all going back the week of the 4th. I can't wait to see that cutie again! Congratualtions Vanessa and Alex, we love you guys!

My Own Pool!

My mom got Rylee her own pool and she absolutely loves it! It will definitely come in handy for all of these hot summer days we have in Indy. This was her first time in her new pool and check out how much fun she had (I took lots of pictures)!

Rylee in her frog pool

She looks so adorable in her suit and sunhat

The pool has a built in sprinkler which she thinks is so much fun.

Splash, splash, splash!

She was laughing so hard while she was splashing away!

After a little while of splashing around she got brave and stuck her face in it.

BIG smiles!

Do you think she's having fun?!?!

Trying to catch the water

She couldn't quite figure out why she couldn't catch it.

Time out from playing to have a drink of mom's water.

All done...time to relax in the sun!
