Sadie's 1 Year Update

I know time flies by when you are having fun, but man...Sadie's 1st year sure did cruise by! She is growing up so fast! I think since she started crawling and then walking early it made it seem like things were all happening so fast. Too quick for me actually. I love this stage and I am trying to take it all in and enjoy. It has been so much fun to watch her grow and learn new things this year! My baby seems more and more like a little toddler everyday. By her 1st birthday she was pretty much "running around". She tries real hard to follow Rylee around and do whatever she is doing. Its cute but sometimes I just want to remind her she's a baby and to slow down.

She's at the stage where she is so proud of everything she does. She loves to clap for herself and loves when we join in and clap for her too. She doesn't say much that I can make out yet, besides mama (she's a mama's girl) and "oh-oh". She learned the sign language for "please" and uses that all the time for both please and more. She also nods her head for yes and seems to use it right too. Its the cutest thing. I am really surprised that she learned yes before no but I like it. It amazes me at how little she is but yet how much she seems to understand. For example, when you say its bath time, she either goes to the stairs to go upstairs for a bath or she'll go to her room and reach for her towel and then walks into the bathroom. I think babies know more than we give them credit for.

She is an excellent eater. She eats more than Rylee most of the time. She's starting to use a fork, she especially likes to when Rylee is. But usually she tries for a little bit and then digs in with her hands. She also tries to sign and say "all done" when she's done eating. She's got 4 teeth on top and 2 on the bottom. Sometime between 12 months and 13 months she got all 4 of her 1 year molars. We are not exactly sure when they came in cause they didn't seem to really affect her. We finally noticed them when 2 were already in and the other 2 were starting to poke through.

A few of her favorites right now: She absolutely loves to play outside! When I say lets go outside, she'll get her shoes or go to the door right away. She does NOT like to come in from outside. Bubbles are a favorite whether its us or her doing them. She also loves the little "push car" we have that I push her around in. She's a big fan of our new swingset we got this year. She even taught herself how to climb up the ladder to the fort area (by 13 months). She scares me when she does this but there is no stopping her now that she knows how to do it. Sadie also loves to dance (she turns around and flops her arms up and down). She loves the pool too. She likes to stand on the side and jump in like Rylee does. Anytime you tell her to "jump" she squats down like she is going to try and jump so high, but doesn't actually go anywhere yet. It sure is cute though.

The majority of the time she is such a sweet, smiley, fun baby! But she is definitely starting to show us that she can be stubborn and have a temper. She just started throwing temper tantrums where she actually lays down on the floor and cries. Then she looks up to make sure we are watching her. We are starting just to ignore her when she does it and it seems to be kind of working. Rylee never went through this stage so this is a new one for us and I hope she grows out of that soon.

Everything checked out good at her 1 year appointment. Here's her stats:

Weight: 19 lbs and 14 ozs (30th %)

Height: 31.25 inches (99th %)

Head: 17.7 inches (49th %)

This past year has been so amazing! I absolutely LOVE watching my girls interact with each other. Its crazy, cause they are so little but yet their love for each other is already so obvious. Sadie looks up to Rylee and Rylee watches out for her little sister. It is so adorable! I know it may not always be this "adorable" so I am writing it down now for them and I am going to enjoy it.

Our neighborhood pool opened Memorial Day weekend. These pictures are from our first time down there. Sadie liked the water and surprised me by walking all around in the kiddie pool. She did face plant once or twice but didn't seem to mind to much. It didn't stop her from walking around anyways. She was not a fan of her hat however. This was the only time she wore it all summer.
