Baby Cuz is a BOY!

I am sure most of you know by now that I am going to be an auntie! My sister Vanessa is 20 weeks pregnant. They just found out that they are going to have a little boy! We are all so excited to welcome a baby boy into our family. Brad and I are looking forward to having a nephew and of course Rylee is excited to have a little cousin (she had a big smile when I told her all about it). It will be so fun to have those two so close in age. Vanessa started a blog and I added "Baby Grignon" as a link. Be sure to check it out, it's cute. She put some of the ultrasound pics up...it's pretty obvious it's a boy!

Packer Game

Well, it's been about a week and a half since the game and I finally stopped bumming (kind of)and am writing this post. We went to Green Bay for the NFC Championship game vs. the Giants. It was a great weekend...all but the outcome of the game. Saturday morning we met the Kreiders south of Chicago and they hopped in our car and we all headed to Green Bay. My mom, Brad, Vanessa, and Briana (Brad's girlfriend) all met us there. Vanessa and Briana surprised us and came...I was so excited that they were able to make it! We all stayed at my Uncle Gary's house which is just a few blocks away from Lambeau. Thanks again Uncle Gary for letting us all crash at your house. Saturday night our friends Josh Pudelko and Stacey and Colin Pomeroy also came over. It was great to see them as well! Sunday, we had planned on tailgating but since it wasn't even 0 degrees outside, we decided to hang out at my Uncles house. My Uncle Lance, Auntie Diane, cousins Tyler, Derek, and Amy, and some of their friends all came over too. We watched the first half of the first game and then started the process of getting all bundled up for the big game.

Vanessa and my cousin Derek drove us to the game. Here's Ness and I in the car on the way. Notice how I couldn't put on all my layers til I got out. Vanessa took a few pics for us before they went back to my Uncles house to watch the game.
This game was the second coldest game in Packer history, only the Ice Bowl was colder. Fortunately, the four of us were prepared for the cold and somehow we all managed to stay warm, even through overtime. You may not believe that given the game time temp was -2 and with the wind chill it was -24 degrees F. We all had on so many layers! I had on 2 shirts, a wool sweater, a down jacket, a ski jacket and then the sideline jacket over all of that. My dad hooked us all up with NMU sideline jackets (I had #4) that were so warm. Thanks Dad! Thanks for your boots and wool socks too! We also all had about 4 layers of pants on and then had warmers for in our boots and mittens. I felt like I could barely move but it was well worth it!

Brad and I...not sure why he doesn't have his gloves on in this picture, brrr.

Brett...my main man (besides Brad of course)

Brett and some other players running out before the game. We had great seats, we were in the endzone by the tunnel. Thanks again Uncle Lowell for getting us the tickets!

All fired up before the game!

The National anthem and the fly over gave me the chills

The opening kickoff. That's the last picture I took from the game. Once it started I never took my mittens off to take pictures, and it was hard to dig for my camera.

Like I mentioned before, the outcome of the game was quite a bummer. We still had a great time and it was an experience we will never forget. I am so glad we were able to go to the game. It would have been awesome if we would've been playing in the SuperBowl this weekend but sometimes games just don't go how you want them too.
My mom, Vanessa, and Briana watched Rylee and Maddy for us during the game. Thanks girls. It looks like they had a great time too.
Watching a movie together

Then Rylee decided she would rather watch the Packer game.

They even gave the girls a bath together. This was Rylee's first bath in the big bathtub and with a friend. My mom said she didn't want to get out, she was having so much fun splashing around. She cried when they finally took them out.

GO PACK GO!

We had some friends over for the Packer game this past weekend. It started out a little scary but then the game quickly turned around. We had so much fun watching the Pack...but not nearly as much fun as we are going to have this weekend. That's right, we are heading to Green Bay to go to the game! My Uncle Lowell was able to find ticket's for us...what an uncle!!! We are so excited! Our friends Jac and Jason are going to go too. They bought tickets on ebay. My mom is going to come to Green Bay to watch Rylee for us. She is so excited to see her grandaughter and we are happy we have a babysitter (and to see her again of course). We are looking forward to a fun weekend! If anyone else is going to the game let us know. GO PACK GO!

5 Months Old

Big smile =)

Last week Rylee turned 5 months old. Unfortunately, the past month has been kind of a rough one for Rylee. She has had a double ear infection and a bad cough. We just took her into the Dr.'s office today for her bad cough and the Dr. decided to start her on breathing treatments. We've given her 2 today and it already seems to be helping her. Her Dr. said it is just a bad time of year for these kind of viruses. I feel bad because I know that Rylee picks up a lot of germs from daycare. Lots of the kids there are sick with one thing or another. I feel guilty and wish I didn't have to expose her to all of that. People keep telling me it is good for her immune system and will pay off later but it sure is hard to see it that way right now. Hopefully she will start to feel better soon.
Even though Rylee has been sick she is still a happy, smiley, active little baby. She is rolling over a lot more now, both from her belly and her back. In fact it's getting harder to change her diaper cause she tries to roll over while you are changing her. She is also spending a lot more time on her tummy. It is funny cause when she is on her tummy she kicks her legs like crazy and you can just tell that she wants to be on the move. It's kind of nice that she's not mobile yet, we are going to enjoy this stage while it lasts.
The pictures above (with the bow in) are from over at our neighbor's house. Rylee has a lot more hair that Gracie so her mom Mindi wanted to put a bow in Rylee's hair. We thought it was kind of cute so we had to take a picture. Her hair is starting to fill in now and it is getting lighter and lighter. You can't really tell in these pictures but she has a lot of blonde hair. Who knows, we may have a blondie. Rylee is also starting to thin out a little. You can actually see her little neck now.

1st Cereal Feeding

We fed Rylee cereal for the first time earlier this month. At first we thought she liked it and that it was going to be easy but we quickly found out otherwise. The first night she was actually leaning in and opening her mouth for it. But some of the other times she just kept turning her head away or trying to grab the spoon with her hands to play with it. I guess we'll just have to keep practicing.

This video is of her very first two bites of cereal. It's pretty funny.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a good time ringing in the new year. Unfortunately we didn't get to do to much celebrating that night. Rylee and I were both in bed by 9:00. I ended up getting a fever, sore throat etc. that day. I think I just wore myself out over Christmas. Brad went over to our neighbor's who were having a party. He said it wasn't too much fun at midnight because for the first time in 9 years, I wasn't there to kiss him. He had to settle for a kiss on the cheek when he got home later that night. Oh well.

Last year on New Year's we announced to our friends down here that we were having a baby. 2007 was a very special year for us and changed our lives. We are so thankful for our blessing! Not a day goes by that Rylee doesn't make us smile. Being a parent sure does bring a whole new definition to love! We are looking forward to 2008 and all the exciting days ahead...here's to another great year!

We didn't take any new year's pics but I just thought this one was cute.
