Happy Easter!

We stayed in town this year for Rylee's first Easter. It was pretty low key...went to church, had a big breakfast, and watched some basketball. Rylee looked so darn cute in her Easter dress! I don't put her in dresses very often so it was fun to dress her up...she looked so girly. She loved her Easter basket too.

She got an Easter basket full of goodies and her own computer (maybe she'll leave mine alone now)

Can you tell she was excited to dig in and see what she got?

She found the eggs!

The Easter Bunny also came to daycare! Rylee kind of just stared at it for awhile but then she liked the big bunny. She also got a big easter basket from the daycare easter bunny. She got a cute spring outfit, teething toys, socks, headband, and a peek-a-boy toy. Did I mention they spoil her there?

As you can see Rylee just adores Miss Jaime. She has so much fun there. They give her lots of lovin, which makes mom and dad feel so much better about the whole daycare thing. We are so thankful we found them!

7 Months Old

Big Girl!

Wink, Wink

One of her new favorite positions - upside down

She's got the crawling position down

Here she comes!
Rylee is growing up so fast! She's talking so much, rolling around everywhere, and trying to crawl (but it's more like scooting along right now). She's a really good eater...likes every food we've tried, although she is not a huge fan of peaches. Still no teeth, but I keep checking cause I feel like it will be soon. She is also starting to hit that shy stage a little bit around other people. She'll give people that shy smile and then turn her head. It's actually pretty cute. She used to go to anyone we would hand her off too but not as much anymore. And if we do hand her off, she usually knows where mom or dad is.
Here's a few other things she's into right now:
- piggy banks (she's got 4 in her room and she looks for them everytime we go in her room and then will give them a huge smile)
- twirling her feet in circles or grabbing her feet
- pulling on mom's necklace and/or earrings
- strings, zippers, and buttons
- watching mom blow dry her hair
- computer keyboard
- big girl baths
- looking at things upside down
- mirrors
- playing with/watching other little kids, especially her good buddy Grace
- any toys that she can put in her mouth (or anything she can put in her mouth for that matter)
- her little blankie that she sleeps with everynight
Things she doesn't like:
- putting her clothes on over her head
- wiping her face or nose (really doesn't like this)
- her bottle if it is cold

I could go on and on with things she likes and I am sure I could think of some more dislikes too. We're just glad her list of likes is a lot longer than dislikes. We're lucky she is such a happy baby!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Rylee's ready to party!

We went to a St. Patty's Day party at one of our neighbor's house on Saturday night. Rylee came with us for the first 2 hours but then we had a babysitter to watch the 3 girls (Rylee, Gracie and Macy) when they all went to bed. We had a few green drinks and had fun celebrating the Irish holiday with friends!

6 1/2 Month Pictures

We took Rylee to JCPenny's about 3 weeks ago for her 6 month pictures. They were really more like her 6 1/2 month pics cause that was around the time we were all sick. They only took pictures for about 20 minutes and at first she wasn't to sure of the photographer. About halfway through she warmed up to him and gave him some smiles. Smiling or not there were still some cute pics. We liked a lot of the black and white pictures. Here they are finally, sorry I'm posting these so late.

Veggies

A few weeks ago we started Rylee on baby food. She's had green beans, peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, and squash. She likes them all but sweet potatoes are definitely her favorite! She eats the whole jar and then gets mad when its gone cause she still wants more. The pictures of her in her bumbo are from her first time with baby food, green beans. I thought they smelt disgusting and I was surprised at how much she liked them. The highchair pictures are from her first time with carrots. She is getting so much better with us feeding her now. She used to be Miss Independent and try to do it herself by grabbing the spoon from us; it would get pretty messy. Now she lets us do it and it's a lot easier and cleaner. We are going to start fruit today and I'm sure she'll love that. It'll be like dessert compared to those beans and peas.

Rough Day

Rylee had a rough day yesterday. She got her first bump and bruise on her head. I was just about to bring her to daycare and I put her down on my closet floor for a few seconds to put my belt on. She reached out for me and fell forward, head first into the corner of the doorway. I saw it happen and I tried to catch her but was too late. I picked her up right away and she cried in pain for a little while. I felt like crying too...I felt terrible. There was a bump on her head with a straight purple line right down the middle of it, almost instantly. I tried putting ice on it but she wanted nothing to do with that. I know she is going to get lots of bumps and bruises but the first one was hard on mom. I took some pictures of it after daycare that day but it already looked a ton better. In fact you can barely see it in these pictures but I promise it looked bad in the morning. You can kind of see it if you look at the upper left side of her head (right side in the pics). She also got a scratch on her nose that day at daycare, you can actually see that better in the pictures.

Mom and Dad had a rough day the day before this...all Packer fans did. I knew Brett was going to retire someday, I just wasn't ready for that day. I was really surprised. He had so much fun and such a great season that I thought for sure that he would come back. He sure is going to be missed! At least we were there for his last game, that's kind of cool.

Another Baby Boy Cousin!

Tyler Joshua Anderson
My cousins Derek and Amy had their baby boy on February 18th. He weighed 8 lbs. and 9 oz., was 20.5 inches long, healthy and a such a little cutie. This is the 12th great grandchild on the Anderson side (9 boys (and 1 more on the way) and 3 girls). I am not sure when we are going to make it up to Wisconsin next but hopefully it won't be too long before we get to see the little guy. Congrats Derek and Amy - we are so happy for you!
