1 Week Old

Sadie is already over a week old! Things seem a little easier with the second one, at least you don't stress about every little thing. Our biggest adjustment is caring for a toddler and a newborn. Luckily Rylee loves her sister and has shown a lot of interest in her (sometimes even too much) and we haven't seen to much jealousy yet. Sadie has been a pretty good baby and incredibly sweet. She's a good sleeper which is greatly appreciated. Unfortuately she is a spitter upper. She spits up a lot. The doctor told me not to be concerned but I just feel bad for her. It doesn't matter if it is 15 minutes or 2 hours after she fed she could spit up and sometimes it seems to upset her when she does it. Hopefully that will get better.

We had her 1 week check-up on Tuesday. It went great! When she left the hospital she was 8lbs. 11oz. but by Tuesday (6 days old) she was already back to her birth weight. I was glad to hear that because with all the spitting up I wasn't sure what she would weigh in at. The doctor said everything else checked out good too and we don't need another appointment til her 1 month visit.

Weight: 9 lbs. 7 ozs. (97th %)
Height: 22 in. (97th %)
Head: 36 cm (60th %)

Even though she sleeps so much I did manage to get a few pictures of her wide awake, showing off her big eyes.

This picture also shows off her big cheeks (that are so soft and get kissed all the time)!

I wanted to get a picture that showed you how long she is. This one does a pretty good job of that. Not only are her arms and legs long but she has the longest fingers and toes too.
