At The Hospital

Here's a few pictures from our time at the hospital. I know some of you have been waiting for more pictures and I apologize it took me a few days.

One of her first few pictures. To hear your baby cry for the first time is the best cry ever!

Kisses from mom already

She loved her bath. Brad said she was so content through the whole thing.

Daddy and his baby girl

Mama with both of her girls.

Rylee was so excited to see her baby sister. She loves her! But in this picture she is reminding us who still rules the roost.

Our Family of 4

Gramma and Sadie

Grampa and Sadie

Rylee is so good with sharing her toys with Sadie. She brought Elmo to the hospital and gave it to Sadie to hug while she was sleeping. It was so cute I had to take a picture.

Just hanging out with Mom, doesn't she look so comfortable and content.

Look at those cheeks! So soft and kissable!

Sisters!

Rylee leaning in to give her baby sis a kiss.

We're going home! We got released around 8:00 Friday night after her 48 hour check up.

She's a big baby but she still looked small in her carseat.

She looked so sweet in her little hat with those big cheeks hanging out.

Sadie Lee

Sadie Lee Spindler
May 27, 2009
9lbs. 7 oz. , 22 in.

Sadie entered the world right on time...her actual due date. Her timing actually worked out perfect. I had my 40 week appointment on Tuesday and we had scheduled an induction for Friday morning if I hadn't had her by then. I was hoping she would come on her own and was very happy when she did. My parents drove down here and got here around noon on Wednesday. I had been having a few contractions that morning but they were about 10 minutes apart and not too strong. So when they got here we visited for awhile and then went out to lunch. By the time we got there I realized my contractions were getting stronger and were about 5 minutes apart. So my dad told the waiter to make ours to go (and fast), his daughter is in labor. I called Brad at work around 1:30 and told him he might want to come home soon. Luckily he came right away. I got to the hospital around 3:00 and my contractions were 2 minutes apart and really strong by that point. They checked me and I was already 6 cm dilated! I couldn't believe it. My water broke on its own a little later and by 6:30 I was fully dilated. I started pushing around 7 and had her at 7:48 PM. A beautiful, healthy, big baby girl! Another true blessing!

Kids Korner Graduation

Our little "Graduate"

Yesterday at Rylee's daycare, Kids Korner, they had a graduation ceremony. They have one every year for the kids that are graduating on to kindergarten and the rest of the kids for finishing the "school year" and moving on up. It is pretty darn cute to see them all dressed up in the gowns. They had a grand march, then said the pledge of allegiance, sang some songs, and showed off some of their skills they learned this year (counting, colors, ABC's, etc.). Obviously the young ones didn't quite do all of that but they just went along with it all. Then Ms. Jaime called each one up and they got a certificate and a little graduate stuffed animal. We sure do love our daycare, they are so great with the kids!

Getting ready for the ceremony

Ready for the grand march. Unfortunately for the march instead of walking to Rylee's seat she ran to me and sat on my lap. Then Grace did the same so I had 2 girls on my lap for the entire thing. That's ok, they are a little young to really get into it.

Rylee saying "cheese"

Grace saying "cheese"

Here they are after the ceremony sitting in their chairs, I guess better late than never. Grace wanted to hold Rylee's hand but I don't think Rylee wanted to.

She didn't wear her cap but she did carry it around for awhile.

Big smile

Rylee loved her graduation puppy that Ms. Jaime gave her. She even had to sleep with it last night.

One more of Rylee and her best friend (and neighbor) Grace.

After the ceremony there were cupcakes for everyone. Rylee loved hers and ate the whole thing.

Grace especially liked the frosting as you can see by her green fingers and mouth.

39 Weeks!

39 weeks and still waiting. Most people thought I would have had her by now, and after hearing people's comments like that for so long, I was starting to believe them that I really was going to go early. Well not so much. I had my 39 week appointment today and the doctor checked me and there is nothing going on yet. I am not dilated and he didn't even say I was effaced yet either. So I scheduled my 40 week appointment for next week and if I still haven't had her by then, then we will discuss at that appointment when to be induced. So meanwhile since I still feel good, I am working and just going about my daily routine.

I decided to take some bare belly shots for my 39 week pictures. I debated whether or not to put them up here but I found it so comical how far my belly sticks out that I thought I would share and make you laugh too. I took these late and Rylee was already sleeping so I didn't get any pictures with her like I usually do. If I make it to 40 weeks I'll take a belly picture with Rylee. She does like to give baby sis kisses so I'll try to get a pic of her kissing my belly.

I decided to change my blog and brighten it up for the summer and the new baby. Unfortunately when I did that I lost the poll that was on there. But the majority of people voted 7.5 - 8 lbs and 8-9 was after that. 3 people voted for over 9 lbs and I sure hope they are wrong.

21 Months

Our little girl is 21 months old already. Not a whole lot has changed since 18 months, she still has a lot of the same likes and dislikes. It seems like 18-20 months was a hard stage. There was a lot of wining and fits before but this past month has been so much better. She is communicating with us better now so I think that helps and causes less wining and fits. She is a happy little girl who loves to play with her babies, play outside, read books, color, is obsessed with Elmo, and loves to watch the puppies outside and the duckies in our pond. She says "baby", "Elmo" (actually it's Melmo), "puppy"and "duckie" ALL the time! At night after we read her books to her, we usually rock with her a little bit and she will tell us a story and those words and mama and daddy are always in her stories. She also get's her "me, my, mine, yours" mixed up. Instead of mine she makes "me" plural like we do for "yours" and says "mys" when she is talking about something that is hers. She will also say "Mylee" when you ask her a question that could be answered with "me" or "Rylee". For example we always ask her who our pretty little girl is and she will point at herself and say "Mylee". It's pretty cute.

Her hair has grown a lot in the last few months. It is so blonde and curly. Around 19 months she started letting me do her hair. At first it was just barrettes but now she lets me do pony tails and pig tails. Pigtails are probably my favorite. Here's a few pictures of some of her new "hair do's."

This was the first time she let me play with her hair and I put it all up in a high pony, she looked so much older to us.
When I pick her up from daycare she sometimes has some fun up-do's. This was one of Ms. Jaime's do's. This picture really cracked me up too cause I told her to smile and she gave me the fakest, cheesiest smile.
Another view of the same "do". Notice she is looking at Quincy's blog on our computer. She loves looking at all the pictures on the blogs.

This one was quite a while ago but I had to include it because it was Brad's first time ever doing her hair. I was gone that morning and I came back and he was so proud that he did her hair with a barrette that he even had taken a picture. I wish he would have taken her blankie out of her mouth but it was still cute and he was a very proud daddy.

For Easter we got Rylee a battery powered 4 wheeler. She loves to cruise around on it. To our surprise she is a pretty good little driver. When she first got on it to ride she pretty much knew how to steer already. Her only problem is she looks down a lot while she is driving. These movie clips are from about a month ago but I thought I would show you her driving skills.

Here she is cruising down the sidewalk. We will walk with her while she drives and she goes all the way down the street with it.

She rides for a little while on this clip but then is very easily distracted by a birdie.

38 Weeks and Nesting

Well I am at 38 weeks today and a lot of people didn't think I would make it this far. I am feeling fine, no contractions or any signs of activity yet. I am still working and just trying to go about the day as usual. It cooled down a little here this week and I was glad because last weekend it was humid and my ankles swelled big time. It seriously looked like I had elephant trunks that just went straight down and my feet were all puffy. Not fun. But I haven't had any swelling this week so that is good. I have my Dr.'s appt. on Friday but I don't think they actually check me til my 39 week appointment.

We have done a lot the past week or so to get ready for this baby. Brad's mom came down last week and helped us so much. She washed all of Rylee's 0-3 month clothes, washed all of the bottles and pump accessories, cleaned off all of the baby stuff (swing, bouncy, play yard, carseat, etc) that was full of dust from being in our basement, and helped clean the house. Before that we really hadn't done anything to get ready for the baby so it was a huge help. Thanks again Vicki! Brad and I have been trying to do a lot too. He has been doing some finishing touches in the basement (it looks great, I'll have to take pictures and post them soon), he cleaned and organized his garage, and did some landscaping outside. I have all of the baby clothes hung and organized, cleaned out a few closets (sent 4 big bags of stuff to Goodwill) and went through all of Rylee's toys (packed some away for the baby, got rid of some, and organized some down in her new playroom). So as you can see we have been "nesting". I haven't packed my hospital bag yet or got the carseat in the car but I suppose we should do that soon too.

I took down the other poll and added a new one. It was a close call but it looks like 1-2 weeks early won with 17 votes, <1 week early was close behind with 14 votes, and 5 people who voted 2-3 weeks early are out. Nobody voted for my due date or overdue...you people better not have jinxed me to have this baby late ;) Now I want to know how big you think this baby girl is. Remember Rylee was 7 lbs. 11 ozs and born at 39 weeks and 3 days (oh and did I mention I am also a lot bigger this time around).

Mother's Day!

Mommy's Pretty Baby Girl (who still seems like my little baby but soon to seem so big next to her baby sister)

Big hugs for mama! (I really don't like this pic of me but it was so sweet of Rylee that I had to put it up here)

2 dozen beautiful roses from Rylee and Baby Sis

I hope all the special mom's and mom's-to-be's in my life had a wonderful Mother's Day! It's a tough job but it is by far the most amazing and rewarding job ever! I am so thankful for Rylee and my other baby girl (that I can't wait to meet). I hope they will grow up and look up to me the way I do to my mom.
